Region 3 AAAA High Jump Champion

Well, I made it to regionals and as it turns out I did really well! I WON!!!!
I managed to clear 5'10", 6'00", 6'2", 6'4", 6'6" without a single miss! I couldn't get over 6'8" but 6'6" was enough to take the gold medal! My dad made a short video with some pictures and footage he took in Huntsville and it turned out pretty good. Check it out.

Now that I have my driver's license and can get around I am going to start up a small business mowing grass this summer. I will cut the grass, edge and weedeat around trees and shrubery, and blow the grass off of the concrete. I will be using a mulching type mower so there will not be grass left on the lawn. Well I got a NEW TRUCK for Christmas!!! It's a Toyota Tacoma and it's Black! I only have my permit so I can't drive it by myself yet but soon baby, soon!!! Here is a picture. I'll try to get a better one up real soon.

T-Rex 700

Well, I've been flying the 700 for a few months now and I have to say I am impressed! It is really a good 3d helicopter and even though I don't do a ton of BIG maneuvers I can definitely say that the 700 doesn't "give up" anything to the N9 on the big stuff! In fact, it is my personal opinion that the 700 actually outperforms the N9 in many areas. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a big fan of the Synergy! I just believe this heli is living up to and beyond the expectations I have of a competition class heli at a much lower investment.

BTW - We still have an N9 to sell, anybody interested?

Finally, it's time for Fallfest in Sulphur Louisiana! This a great funfly and I have to say I am really excited about the upcoming weekend. We are not going to stay in Sulphur but will just drive back and forth since it's only an hour away. I'm really anxious to see some good friends and make some new ones!

Two days of flying!! that's what dad and I did this weekend. It was awesome! Very low winds and abundant sunshine, along with some really great people to fly with made this weekend LOT of fun! We are very tired from the trip but it is a satisfying kind of tired. Karen and Nathan cooked for us Saturday night and it was great too! But the nachos for lunch on saturday were the bomb!

The picture was in the mid-afternoon and doesn't include everyone who was there, only the guys that pretty much hung out all day. Dad and I flew until we ran out of fuel about an hour and a half before dark.

It looks like dad and me are going to corpus this coming weekend!!! I really hope it works out so we can go. It's a lot of fun to hang out and fly with those guys. If iI get the chance I'm going to try and take a little cash from Ron. He's always up for a bet.

Even if we don't go this weekend, we will prolly work on a new video so keep your eyes open cause dad's been digging through I-tunes looking for some new music to lay down on the video. He says he's got an idea. This oughtta be good! :>)

K.I.S.S. - keep it simple stupid!!!

I have had a lot of different helicopters in the past couple of years. I've owned Raptors, MA's, Synergy, JR, Align, Next D and outrage. Sometimes I've had up to five different helis at the same time. What I've found is that I tend to find my favorite one helicopter and fly that one. I may bring two or three to the field but typically I only fly one of them. Also it's hard to keep up with more than one at a time from a mechanical or maintenance standpoint.

That is why I have decided to thin my fleet of birds down to my T-Rex 700 as my heli that I fly. Sure I have a G5 and I will fly it in the smaller spaces around the house and at funflys. But Everybody knows I love the nitros and the 700 is my personal favorite at this time.

Flying one heli just keeps everything so much more simple. I don't have to worry about so many different types of parts to keep on hand (thats my dad) and I know when I go to fly it that it's going to fly because it has been maintained since I have had enough time to constantly look it over.

So if you are having some success with flying and you currently own only one heli. But are looking at expanding your fleet. Please give serious consideration before you simply add on. Maybe replacing your current heli makes more sense.

Just a thought as I have found the KISS theory to work best for me!

I just want to let all of the Outrage Team Pilots know that I really appreciate the warm welcome and enthusiasm with which ya'll have already made me feel like a real part of this team! I am really pumped about the Outrage product lineup and am looking forward to doing my part to make this THE team to be on in the rc helicopter world!

Outrage RC has some really BIG plans and it is very exciting to be a part of making those plans become a reality! I am very Excited about the 550 that should hit the shelves in late october early November. And I'm even more Excited about the 50 sized nitro machine that is coming soon. I should have a prototype in mid to late November and as soon as I get my dirty little hands on it, I plan to get it in the air and really wring it out! I'll write all about it here as well as on Runryder, HeliFreak and the Outrage RC forum!

Austin Funfly

The Austin Funfly was everything I had expected it to be and more! My dad and I got there Friday night. We met up with Chucky at the hotel and flew his blade in the lobby of the hotel. It was on from there. While it wasn't a large funfly in regards to number of pilots, it was huge as fun goes at a funfly!

Jamie, Ron and I finally pulled off a comeback demo for Ron. Most of the folks there actually believed Ron was flying the heli until we gave up the joke with creighton's video. What a blast that was!!!! A great big thanks goes out to the guys that helped us pull it off!!!

The auto contest and drag races were a lot of fun to be involved in. Me and Jamie were able to really put on a show in the auto contest and that was a lot of fun! I was one of the finish line judges in the drag races. This was the first time I've done that, let me just say it took a lot more courage than I thought to stand there at the finish line while guys were flying thier helis directly at you!

As always the food was great and the guys running the event were first class hosts! This is definitely an event I will have on my calendar next year!

I did fly the 700 this weekend. It feels really light in the air! It is so light that it feels like the engine is producing more power than it did in my N9!!!

I really have to say thank you to Ron Lund for working with me to help me get a 700 kit! I have already got the heli built and should fly it this weekend. Without those guys at Ron's I probably wouldn't still be flying helicopters, much less be where I am.

Outrage RC

I am proud to announce that I have teamed up with Outrage RC as a Team Pilot. I'm really excited about the full line of lipos that Outrage has to offer. Hopefully I'll have some of these by the Austin FF.

Both me and my dad discussed this opportunity with the guys from Outrage at length. The company is solid and wants to help grow the hobby with quality products at an affordable price point. I am looking forward to a long relationship with Outrage!
